Charles Michael.
Charles Michael, aged 71, of 816 East Ewing avenue, died at 8:30 a.m. today in his residence after an illness of one year. He was born in St. Joseph County September 24, 1877, and spent his life here. he was graduated from South Bend High school and later taught school in St. Joseph county for two years. For 31 years he was associated with the former First National bank. Until his retirement one year ago he was auditor for the Bendix Products division of the Bendix Aviation corporation. Mr. Michael was a member of Firs Methodist church and of the Royal Archanum. On Oct. 17, 1901, he married Nettie Liphart, who survives. Other survivors are two sons, Ralph W., of Lakeville, this county, and Charles Everett, of Walnut Creek, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert G. Abrams, of South Bend; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Mitchell, of South Bend, and Mrs. Anna Haskell, of Long Beach, Calif., and a brother, Fred, of South Bend. Friends may call in the Welshmeimer funeral home tonight.
